About Plasterwrx

The history of decorative plasterwork is legendary and can still be seen in many period and historical properties. Methods and materials have been handed down over centuries from craftsman to apprentice, and mixed with modern technology to product better qualty results.

Plasterwrx is a specialist solid and fibrous plastering company established in 1995 to provide a professional service for both domestic and commercial building projects, also offering a supply only service.

Plasterwrx now trade under 'oakwoodhousedevelopmentsltd' after Incorporating in 2013.

Contracts are undertaken throughout the UK, and for a large part of 2012 we were involved in the restoration of a 7 storey apartment in Mayfair, London for a private client, using our wide range of plasterware and experience.

About Alan Graystock

Alan Graystock is the award winning proprietor of plasterwrx and has rapidly achieved a record of excellence since beginning his career in 1991, including:

    1992
    • College Prize Winner 1st year plastering

    1993
    • College Prize Winner 2nd year plastering

    1994
    • College Prize Winner 3rd year plastering
    • Gold Medallist in the 'Skillbuild National Skills Final', winning the title of 'Best Plasterer in the UK' in his age group and resulting in selection for the 'UK Skills Team' to compete in the 'Youth Skills Olympics'
    • City & Guilds Medal of Excellence winner. The silver medal being the highest possible award at NVQ level 3

    1995
    • Gold Medal Winner in 33rd International World Skills Olympics held in Lyon, France. Over 500 competitors were involved representing 28 countries in more than 40 trades

    1996
    • Yorkshire Television Young Achiever Award - The arts award college special award. Governors Shield, for outstanding contribution to college and community.

    1997
    • Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust medal winner.

    2000
    • Appointed as Skillbuild Technical Expert in plastering, which involves organising competitions in plastering for the UK finals.

    • Appointed UK Skills Technical Expert in plastering, involving the training and preparation of the winner of the Skillbuild National Finals to take part in the International World Skills Olympics, held every two years.
